CWA Bargaining Update Envoy Air - May 31, 2016

May 31, 2016

On May 26th and 27th, your bargaining committee met with the Envoy bargaining committee. The meeting started with the company presenting counter proposals on purpose of agreement, probation and safety and health. CWA then presented proposals on an interim grievance procedure. We discussed the interim grievance procedure and interim furlough proposal that CWA had submitted previously. The Company said they have no issue allowing a steward to represent a member in an investigation meeting, and they would be able to ask questions and/or give relevant information but could not stop the questioning when there is an agreement in place. There was a lengthy conversation about the issue of the employee pay plan, which is the plan that generated your raise annually. Envoy is concerned that it would be difficult to give a raise without knowing the full economic impact of the contract. We have asked for the details of the pay plan. The Company agreed to provide last year’s plan, however if anyone has any information from past years it would be useful to forward the information to us. The meeting was adjourned so we could work on proposals. The second day we were joined by a member of the Advisory Board from Dallas. Envoy made a counter proposal on interim grievance procedure. CWA made counter proposals on probation and safety and health, which resulted in agreements. The Committee felt we needed to give a counter proposal on the interim grievance procedure next session but signed the probation and safety and health articles. Next Bargaining dates are June 21-22.
