Our Video Was On the Today Show!
We made the national news yesterday! Our "In This Together" ad, developed by CWA District 6 and Local 6001, was featured in a story on the Today Show about holiday travel. The ad highlights the issue of passenger assault and calls on travelers to treat us with respect. You can watch the story here. The relevant section about unruly passengers starts at 2:10.
It seems like every week we're facing more incidents of unruly passengers endangering airport workers like us and their fellow passengers. We've been on the front lines in the battle to protect the traveling public since the beginning of the pandemic, and not enough is being done by federal law enforcement to protect us by enforcing the laws we worked so hard to pass.
To the best of our knowledge, not a single passenger who has assaulted an agent has been prosecuted under federal law. The ad is part of our campaign to let the public know about this issue and to put pressure on federal law enforcement to take action.
We're also contacting the Department of Justice directly. So far, nearly 2,966 agents and supporters have written letters. If you haven't sent a letter yet, help us hit 3,000 by clicking here to send your message to the Department of Justice today.
Another way to help is by sharing the ad on social media. Click here to check it out and share.
